The Kershaw Barge Knife is much more than your run-of-the-mill folding knife. This is a knife that solves a problem. The problem is needing a pry bar, but only having your pocket knife blade to hand. The temptation is real , now the solution is too. The Kershaw Barge has been designed with an integrated prybar into the backspacer of the knife. Instead of needing a separate pry bar, you now have one in-built into the knife itself.
Primarily though, this is still a knife. The blade on the Barge is a modified wharncliffe with a long cutting edge making it a highly functional utility knife, it also feels ridiculously sturdy, and has plenty of gimping along the top for added grip. Probably most impressive feature though is the extremely sturdy frame lock which looks like it can really stand up to almost any heavy duty task.
In terms of grip, the handle uses a textured glass-filled nylon front scale and a stonewashed steel back. The former adding lots of grip, and the latter blending in nicely with the stonewashed blade. Finally, if you don’t like how it fits in your pocket, you can simply move or remove the pocket clip whichever suits you best.
