Fire Starting Gear for Preppers – Essential Survival Fire Kits

In a real bug out survival situation, fire is absolutely critical — it can mean the difference between life and death. Fire provides essential warmth, dries out your kit, lets you cook food, and most importantly, allows you to boil water for safe drinking.

Given the UK's damp and unpredictable weather, finding dry tinder can be a real challenge. That’s why every UK prepper should carry a reliable fire starter kit and dependable firelighter sticks in their Bug Out Bag.

Waterproof fire starting tools are a must. In wet conditions, a soggy matchbox is useless. That’s where the Turboflame Windproof Lighter and waterproof survival matches come in handy.

The key to successful fire starting is redundancy. Always carry multiple fire lighting methods — striker, matches, and lighter. They're lightweight, compact, and could save your life when it matters most.
